How to increase sales without spending money!

Oh hey!

Looks like you’re interested in a business tip from a web copywriter & fellow business owner.

There are so many ways I could answer this question—which is really about sales & marketing—but the most important tip (IMO) is to:

Be YOU!

Yep! Being your beautiful, authentic self will increase sales without costing any money.

We’ve all heard “No one is you and that is your superpower.”

But so few of us really have the courage to embrace that.

You may have heard of SEO copywriting, which is critical to having the best fitting clients land on your site.

But your personality is there wrestling with SEO to be considered the most important piece of the puzzle.

The way you can be yourself in your website copy is to embrace & showcase your personality!

How copywriting works to support the task of increasing sales without spending a dime →

SEO copy helps the right clients find you; your personality (found in web copy) seals the deal.

When people like you & connect with you, they trust you. And want to support you. (Which = sales.)

So how do you show your human side & make connections?

Bring your PERSONALITY to the words on your website.

Why does this work to grow your business?

Because when you show up as YOU, you start calling in & attracting your ideal clients.

You start really enjoying your work - and your clients have nothing but amazing things to say about you!

A happy YOU + happy CLIENTS = more REFERRALS!

That grows your business more quickly than almost anything else out there.

(Legit probably more so than absolutely anything else out there, but it’s advised to never make absolute statements like that, so…)

Your words not only show up on your website, they exist in emails, social media posts, & podcast pitches.

They do some serious heavy lifting on behalf of you & your practice.

Many of us leave copy until the cold, bitter end of a project.

We’re more concerned with the look of a thing or kicking Imposter Syndrome to the curb (aka: dealing with mental blocks).

Copy should be one of the very first things we focus on because those words are everywhere representing us & our businesses.

For a quick & easy exercise to check your website copy, follow these 3 steps:

-Ask 3-5 people who you think really “get you” to visit your website.
(Friends, family, coworkers, etc.)

-Have them read your Home & About pages.
(Sounds simple enough…)

-And ask them this: “Do the words on my website sound like me?”
(Are they things you would say? Ways you express yourself?

If yes - great! Your job is done. Beautiful work, friend!

If no - ask them to share a few things you typically say. And find a way to incorporate those words or phrases in your website copy.

Other web copywriting tips:

  • Forget everything you’ve ever learned about grammar. Just write!
Use exclamation points! Write 1 sentence & call it a paragraph.

The more you can let the grammar police drift off silently into that quiet night, the more your personality can really start to pop off the page!

  • Focus on writing to just 1 person. It’s going to feel weird! But embrace it.
When you do this, you’re not excluding potential clients. Just the opposite!

Writing to 1 person helps to establish you as an authority.
