LISTEN: Brittany's Best Podcast Interviews 🎧

If you’d asked 8-year-old Brittany if she wanted to volunteer for multiple recorded conversations, you’d have heard “no” quick, fast, & in a hurry!

As an introvert with porcelain skin which turn-eth red the instant attention is directed my way, I’ve historically NOT been a fan of recorded anything.

But in 2019, I started to change my tune.

Heck—maybe the transition started even before that—in 2009, when I interviewed for a job as a Starbucks barista.

You see… I wanted to get comfortable with:

  • speaking to lots of people (so. many. people. so. early. in. the. morning.)

  • networking (totally paid off—I got several babysitting, nannying, & petsitting gigs) &

  • being in a little bit of a “performance” job (people staring while you make their coffee will do the trick!)

How does my short career stint as a Starbucks barista tie into this podcast interview playlist?

Because without me dipping my toe in the speaking, networking, & performing waters—

➡️ I would’ve NEVER felt comfortable enough to have a public Instagram profile (even if it IS for business purposes!)
➡️ I wouldn’t have started sharing pieces of my life & marketing tips (for massage therapists & other holistic entrepreneurs) online
➡️ I never would have joined groups like Social Curator, 5-Figure Leap, or The Copy Confidence Society—which have been incredible networking & group learning experiences! (Virtual places where I’ve made SO many incredible online business owner friends.)

And—most importantly—I NEVER would have had the chance to be interviewed on these amazing podcasts!

(This list is updated regularly)

The Systems & Workflow Magic Podcast w/ Dolly DeLong

I’m incredibly excited for this episode! Mostly because this is just the beginning, friend.

If you’re listening to this podcast (<< that’s the blog & transcript link by the way) in late 2022 or early 2023, you are in for a treat!

More on that in a second.

My podcast interview with Dolly was ALL about how client testimonials support your SEO strategy.

She shared some great content related to the episode on Instagram! My favorite posts:

Ok here are the deets for this special treat!

Dolly is released a HUGE bundle—The Systems & Workflow Magic Funnel Bundle—in February 2023.

This bundle included resources for each and every part of the funnel—from getting visible & gaining leads, to what to do with a client post-project.

Leading up to the bundle release, she launched a private pop up podcast!

The podcast series was a 4-day private, FREE training. (I recorded a special training that went in-depth on client testimonials.)

Permission to Kick Ass w/ Angie Colee

This one took a tone for the more personal—with a side of business

When the opportunity presented itself for Brittany to shift her business from massage therapy to copywriting, she took a different approach than most.

She fully embraced and announced her new identity with enthusiasm (even when she didn’t feel fully ready).

If you think everyone has it all figured out, this one’s for you because spoiler alert: we’re all just making it up as we go!

I say this frequently & am SO excited that someone else thought it was worthy of being a word quote.

Talk Copy to Me w/ Erin Ollila

Turning Testimonials into Case Study Marketing Content

Case study marketing offers an excellent return on investment. It's one way to show our clients our expertise, while also showcasing the breadth of work we can accomplish.

Case studies are perfect for business owners who are modest (to a fault!) and don't love selling themselves as a personal brand or showcasing their expertise in other ways.

Best yet — there are so many ways to approach case studies, which helps in this online marketing world where so many people are doing the same things over and over and over again.

Here's exactly what we covered when we discussed turning testimonials into case study marketing assets:

  • How Brittany’s efforts to make friends as a child also served her well in the online business world

  • The importance of building out testimonials into bigger pieces of marketing content, specifically case studies

  • What a case study is and why business owners should invest in them.

  • Brittany’s approach to stori-fied case studies

  • How case studies can show off your expertise without you having to boast and brag as a business owner

  • The trouble with writing your own case studies (and how to potentially overcome them)

  • The benefits of hiring an expert “outsider” to write the case studies for you.

  • How to determine what makes the best testimonials (and use them in your case study marketing)

  • Whether or not sourcing information from your case studies can be templatize-able

  • Where to use case studies on the website

  • Why case studies are good for client acquisition and also for SEO
