Websites with blogs and podcasts, some with none
Without further ado

📹 Here’s the Loom for my fast action-takers:
And the fun stats for my fellow number nerds ⤵️
✴️ 50% of the sites 12 had very low traffic
»» you can’t get leads from Google if very few people are even going to your website… so I don't even wanna hear it! (🤭) In my lil study, low traffic was a key indicator that the SEO strategies were lacking. BIG TIME.
✴️ over half the websites (56%) were NOT showing up for keywords or were showing up for irrelevant keywords
»» words & phrases that aren’t related AT ALL to their offers or audience. When you're not being clear, the robots make guesses, and... let's just say great things don't happen from guesswork.
✴️ 44% had too many or NO H1s
»» it was more common that a website had too many or too few (0) H1s than the necessary ONE H1 heading—let alone a heading that included the target keyword. Translation: missed opportunity, folks!
✴️ 20% of all websites had missing or too short SEO titles
»» this piece of copy is what “stops their scroll” on a Google search results page, but with nothing (OR something really vague) plugged in... NOTHING can happen to help you be findable!
But the most common mistake I saw on the SEO audits…
✴️ 52% of websites had a meta description that was WAY too long
»» this is a major major problem because people feel like they’re not getting the full picture (read: that they can’t TRUST you) when this happens
They—people, humans, potential clients—don’t even give you a chance! They don’t even click over to your website to do a vibe check when the SEO titles & meta descriptions aren’t on-point OR in place. 👀
There’s much more in the SEO report video walkthrough. (Scroll up to watch it^^)
Most people are making at least 1 of these SEO mistakes:
❌ letting their website host platforms do SEO for them
❌ optimizing content—but NOT their core website pages
❌ burying their head in the sand & completely ignoring SEO
» Honorable mention goes to:
getting AI to do their SEO—without giving it any directions 🤦🏻♀️
The biggest gaps keeping people from getting leads from Google?
→ There ARE SEO pieces in place—SEO titles, meta descriptions, H1 headlines, even content—but they’re not cohesive enough or being clear enough to help the robots understand who they help or how. The bots 🤖 are confused, which means they’re missing out on aligned leads!
→ There’s low traffic to the site & a lack of keywords, which tells me there’s a lack of clarity on the website—so the robots 🤖 are making guesses about who they help & how, which is a recipe for NO leads or not aligned leads.
→ NO SEO titles, meta descriptions, H1s, or content in place—or at the very least being tended to regularly (read: monthly, which is very doable!). They’re basically hidden in plain sight! The bots can’t see them so the people aren’t easily finding them.
You know how I mentioned (in the video) that one of my clients was showing up for “[name] obituary” & another was showing up for “bachelorette party”?
“Obituary” was Michelle—an executive leadership coach 👀
My 3-step framework, THE SEO & GROW METHOD, fills those gaps with ease & guidance:
Phase 1️⃣ UNDERSTAND SEO
The VERY FIRST thing I ask you to do is get clear on who you help, how you help them, & what you want to be known for—what makes you different & the BEST option for clients?
Phase 2️⃣ IMPLEMENT SEO
With those answers, you’re able to find the BEST keywords for you & your business AND create SEO strategies for your main website pages so your website actually works for you.
Phase 3️⃣ MAINTAIN SEO
Once your website has a strategy, you can start taking action to support that—by optimizing off-site places (like social media profiles), content (new and/or existing), plus tracking AND making aligned marketing decisions based on the data.
The steps build on one another & come together to create a digital footprint that works FOR you—sending you aligned leads consistently with very little effort on your end!
With SEO, the work is “front-loaded” and in the long run, this is the most sustainable marketing strategy around.
Whew! I’m SO glad I could clear that up for you. 😅
But now that I have… what are you supposed to do with all of that???

The idea of diving into SEO made me nauseous—but Brittany made it so accessible! SEO feels very doable—and I don’t feel that way about a lot of stuff in my business.””
