They say not to judge a book by it’s cover, but I continue to break that rule.

I love books and sometimes the tie-breaker is the book cover. I will not lie - I chose this book because of the title AND the cover - yellow is kind of my color…

What is this fantastic book I just read?

“No matter what you eat, how much you exercise, how skinny or young or wise you are, none of it matters if you’re not breathing properly.”

First of all, I’m an Audible fan and I listened to this book. By the way, James Nestor is my new best friend - he just doesn’t know it yet.

It was a relatively quick listen - I think it took me roughly 10 days and he’s got a voice that’s easy to listen to. (Those are the top two questions I’m asked when I recommend an audiobook.)

Breath was packed with science, a “fun” experiment James puts himself through, other anecdotes of breath work he’s tried, and - most importantly - easy solutions to add into your daily life today.

I started listening to the book and immediately shared it on social media, texted friends - including a pediatric dentist, a client, and a PT friend - about it, and began adding in some of the practices he shares.

I’m a big fan of any work that gives simple, practical, actionable solutions and this definitely did the trick. The amount of new facts I learned is just incredible.

This book - I’d say - is a must read for anyone dealing with:

  • sleep apnea

  • anxiety/depression

  • snoring

  • tiredness throughout the day

  • sinus issues

  • poor sleep

  • sluggish immune system

  • weight issues

…I mean, there are way too many to list. Let’s just say everyone should read this book!
