A Massage Therapist Turns into a Copywriter
How can one person be both a massage therapist and a copywriter?
Easy! She writes copy for healthcare professionals’ websites.
And she “gets you” because she is you!
I’m going to share all about how I arrived here, but I want to focus on you for another lil bit.
It’s stressful wearing all the hats - business or practice owner, marketing expert, knower of all the processes and systems.
Sometimes you just want someone to give you a pat on the back and tell you you’ve done enough.
Well, friend - You have done more than enough today!
You are doing an amazing job!
You are exactly where you’re supposed to be.
And I know this for a fact - because I’ve been in your shoes.
(In fact, I’m still in them.)
The best healthcare shoes - those of a practice owner!
I’ve managed people, booked meetings, scheduled patients, and done office cleaning - until my face turned red (I actually do that).
It’s a LOT!
Whether you’re a chiropractor, massage therapist, pediatric dentist, OBGYN, or an orthopedic surgeon -
We spend so much time keeping up with our regular patients and clients that we sometimes neglect the path that brought them to us in the first place.
And that’s what I started realizing.
We can’t be everywhere, but our words can be.
What we say and write - that exists online 24/7 and we don’t have to monitor it hourly!
Your website can do a lot of the heavy lifting for you.
If we set it up correctly and check in with it regularly, it can do amazing things for us!
And it can do even even more if we know the tips and tricks to employ with those words.
Enough about the technical things and recap of the life you live daily!
Let’s get to the point where I share about who I am and why you should care…
It started a long time ago, in a tiny town in NC.
(I was born in Kentucky, but that’s not where my story really starts.)
Around the time I was 7 years old - I discovered I really loved words.
I wanted to write things. I was creative. And don't get me started on my massive book collection!
But I didn’t know how writing would play a role in my adult and business life.
(Again - I was a child!)
I grew up, wanted to be a teacher. Decided not to do that.
Found physical therapy. Started to pursue that.
And got distracted by massage therapy. (Which was supposed to be a stepping stone for PT.)
I worked for doctors and other healthcare providers. I learned some things I wanted to do, and some I didn’t.
But ultimately realized how much I really understood both the providers AND the clients.
I saw how I was able to take action without needing to pester the doctor about everything.
Action that they agreed with - would have approved anyway - and were happy they didn’t have to deal with!
They said weekly (if not daily) how much they appreciated me taking a weight off their shoulders.
And I thanked them for empowering me to help them!
And so my love affair with helping healthcare professionals started.
It’s gone from helping with tiny tasks to much bigger ones.
Like assisting a doc find “their voice” for their about page, website, and blog posts. Aiding an airway specialist in clarifying what the practice brand and values are.
And connecting healthcare professionals with other amazing creatives like photographers and marketing strategists to help their practice really soar!
The words on your website are the foundation of what’s to come for that potential patient.
Your webcopy is often where clients are “meeting” you for the very first time.
I’m here for you whether you need someone to fill up your literal cup of water, create an About Page that actually reflects YOU, or develop a blogging style that works for you and keeps your site relevant (to the Google).
I’d love to know how I can help you today!
